Cool is dead; and, all we got was this fucking iPhone.

Cool is dead; and, all we got was this fucking iPhone.

My wife and I have this saying—well, it's not even a saying really. It's more of a vibe-check that amounts to something similar to: you can't buy cool.

In our world, that's always been the motorcycle jackets, skateboards, certain haircuts or tattoos. Someone gets the cut, the guitar, the costume, and by all accounts they're doing everything right—except something is off. They've accomplished the aesthetic signalling and the micro dog-whistling; referencing things only cool kids would know. It just isn't right, though, is it?

Hollywood calls it the it factor. You either have it, or you don't. That's what it surmounts to. It's not about being a "poser" or whatever (everyone is a fucking poser—get over yourself), it's just that some people are not cool. Like…Ever. They are immune, and it doesn't matter how much society changes. It doesn't matter if science is in, or rock 'n' roll is out, some people's version of what's cool…is just out. Indefinitely. Sorry, bruv.
